Though many of our students come from
Maine, the unique nature of the marine science programs
attract a diverse student body from all of the New England
states. Class size is small which promotes a casual
atmosphere and an intimacy between the students and faculty.
A typical class is a diverse mix of ages, the average
age at the college is 26, backgrounds, many students have
been in the work force prior to coming to college, and
interests, some prefer laboratory based activities while
others prefer field work.
